TCS Tiger's Claw CV-07

The TCS Tiger's Claw was commissioned in 2644. The first of the Bengal class carriers, the ship was ten meters longer than subsequent Bengals – the design was streamlined and improved upon for later ships.

“The Claw”, as she was affectionately called by her crew, was home to many of the most famous pilots of the Kilrathi War. Christopher "Maverick" Blair, Todd "Maniac" Marshall, and Michael "Iceman" Casey all served with distinction aboard the carrier in 2655. Senator Taggart even served on her immediately before his retirement from the Space Forces. The ship was also home to the infamous; Commodore Geoffrey Tolwyn commanded the vessel in 2654, before being promoted to Admiral.

The end of the Tiger's Claw's service came in 2656, when it was ambushed by Kilrathi cloaking fighters while en-route to the Kilrathi Enigma sector Headquarters at K'tithrak Mang.

Over the years, confusion arose over the Tiger's Claw's “official” name. Some often referred to it as “Tiger Claw”, although staunch historians were quick to point out that the ship was in fact called “Tiger's Claw”. The confusion stemmed from the fact that the vessel was originally planned as the “Tiger Claw”, but commissioned as the “Tiger's Claw”.

…she was laid down as Tiger Claw but commissioned as Tiger’s Claw. While the latter is what appeared on her hull, the former is frequently used — even in documents written by the carrier’s pilots and crew.
