Centurion - heavy fighter (civilian)
Publically sold at AVR Ships' dealer concessions throughout the Gemini sector, Centurions are touted by AVR sales people as “heavy fighters”, though the classification seems a bit dubious. What's probably true is the salesmen's claims that it is the best publically-sold fighter. Fast, highly maneuverable, and with four forward gun mounts, two missile launcher pylons, and space for a rear turret, this is a formidable ship. What it loses to a Demon medium fighter in terms of speed, it more than makes up for in armor strength. In fact, the most difficult questions to answer about the Centurion are (a) why doesn't it cost twice as much?, and (b) why aren't there more buyers? Centurions are rarely seen flying in Gemini, compared to other ship types that are only marginally lower-priced, but dramatically inferior in combat.
